Welcome by the Mayor

The Municipality of Kerteminde has come a long way, and we are pleased that we still continue to grow in terms of population and new businesses.

Our location and proximity to nature, the city of Odense, and water provide us with favourable expansion possibilities.

We are committed to keeping up with current trends and demands of all kinds of enterprises. Years of turbulence in the financial sector have made these tasks challenging. Openings of the Offshore Renewable Center at the Lindoe Shipyard and Kerteminde’s new fishing port for small vessels are, however, examples of recent business achievements in the municipality and proof of preservation.

Kerteminde is a municipality with an attractive countryside and we want to share these pleasures with others. The 2009 launch of the beautiful 20 km long Munkebo trail captures a piece of Kerteminde’s charming nature and is a great excursion for  locals and visitors alike.

Nationally and internationally, we are known and recognised as a municipality with many maritime activities. Kerteminde hosts major events like the 2010 RS.X world championships, Sail Extreme and other national and international championships.

So what is next for Kerteminde? Well, we definitely have a clear vision for the future and therefore many stones still remain unturned. Yet, with the legislation ensuring that  InterCitys train stop at Langeskov from 2014, we have already taken a head start towards future milestones.
